Trojans!

I wanted to thank every one of you who contributed to the Ryan Davidson fund during the game watching parties at Washington State and Oregon State. Ryan received the gifts (the Club purchased a USC backpack and filled it with USC gear along with the card signed by all of you) on Monday night. I can’t tell you how proud I am to be associated with all of you, and to show the Davidson’s what the Trojan Family is all about.

On Monday night, Kirby Davidson, Ryan’s father emailed me to thank all of us:

Hi Ray –

Well, your gifts were a big hit last night!  At first Ryan didn’t quite know what to think when we opened the box which was Fed Ex’d from some guy in Texas and had a huge card inside. But, as you’ll see in the pictures I’m sending you, once he read the card he was beaming! It was so much fun to watch!  He loved EVERYTHING and wore his new USC sweatshirt to school today to show off (he was very proud I might add!)

Our daughter Mallory helped to take some of the pictures and Amy had her camera, too. At one point Amy stopped taking pictures and I looked over and noticed that she was wiping her eyes. We exchanged a look and I knew that she was caught up in the emotion of how nice this group of people are in Texas to send such nice gifts and bring such joy to our son.

When I share the story of what your group did with others they are simply amazed and touched. “What a great group of people” is the common response followed by “Ryan must be so thrilled!” To which we reply, “Yes, and yes.”

Please share our gratitude with all of the USC alumni in North Texas who participated in making this happen for Ryan. It is an act of generosity we won’t soon forget.
